Which son are you? In this parable of grace we find that both the brother sleeping with the pigs and the one putting lip-stick on them are in need of their father's grace.
Jesus continues to repeat this confusing line, "the last shall be first and the first shall be last". What could this mean? Does He really mean that He's here just for losers and the least? The parable of the vineyard workers just might explain why.
Are you the Traveler, the Passerby, the Samaritan, or have you been each of them? This is just one of the questions the parable of the Good Samaritan asks us.
Can you believe it? God loves LOSERS (even when we're too proud to admit that there's a loser hiding somewhere inside of us). In fact, each one of us is important to Him--even when we wander off or get lost in our own stuff. And He loves to make the last first, the least greatest, the lost found, the little big, and the spiritually dead miraculously alive! Then He sends us out to do the same for others. This is life as usual in the Kingdom of God.
Is it possible this story we have heard so many times still holds power and mystery of the Kingdom of God?
